Dallastown Area School District

Every August/September, the Dallastown Area Educational Foundation transfers $1,000 of seed money to open a class account for the new Kindergarten class. Over the next 13 years, additional funds are raised through building-level activities, the efforts of the 9th through 12th grade Student Representatives, a DAEF Jeans Day with DASD employees (for the graduating class), and the sale of items at annual events such as the Flannel Fling and Sweetheart Dance (a percentage of the net proceeds). The Scholarship Committee then distributes as many $2,000 class scholarships as possible to the successful senior-class applicants.
