The mission of the Department of Buildings & Grounds is to ensure that all school district facilities are appropriately maintained and operated to provide a clean and safe learning environment for students and staff.
The District's Maintenance Team provides preventive and corrective maintenance. This includes responsibility for handling a wide range of day-to-day building operations including, but not limited to, custodial, electrical, mechanical, plumbing and groundskeeping needs. In addition to care for all school buildings, the department also oversees all District athletic fields and coordinates rentals.
The Department of Buildings & Grounds employs a team of approximately 60 staff members, consisting of custodians, maintenance technicians, and a District courier, who are responsible for cleaning and maintaining the District’s 1.2 million square feet of buildings on almost 200 acres.
