At Dallastown Area School District, we understand that every student enters school with unique experiences that can significantly impact their academic success. We recognize that some students may face challenges such as food insecurity or distressing events at home, which can hinder their ability to thrive in the classroom. To address these challenges, we are committed to providing support for our students' out-of-school needs, ensuring they have the resources necessary for a positive in-school experience.
Our dedicated District Social Worker, Rebekah Cooper, is here to serve as the first point of contact for students and families navigating difficult community systems. Mrs. Cooper can assist with accessing essential resources such as food, shelter, and other basic needs, applying for benefits like state health insurance, and connecting with community services. Additionally, she is available to support students' mental health, working closely with counselors, administrators, and teachers to foster a supportive and successful educational environment.
