STAFF DEVELOPMENT
During the 2017-18 school year, 14 district-sponsored staff development courses and 4 summer workshops were offered, which included 9 new courses and a new workshop. 234 teachers and 18 paraprofessionals participated.
The new courses included:
- K-12 Google Educator Certification Boot Camp, Level I
- K-12 Breakout-Teaching Using Locks and Logic
- K-12 Diving into Diversity: An Overview
- K-12 Allies Not Adversaries - Involving Parents to Promote Learning
- K-6 Teaching Science Through Inquiry
- K-12 SLICE - Summer Learning in a Collaborative Environment
- K-12 Adverse Childhood Experiences: Trauma Informed Learning
- K-12 Diving into Diversity: LGBT Issues in Education
- K-12 Infusing Culture into your Curriculum
Additionally, 126 curriculum development workshops were conducted on the campus from mid-June to mid-August with 287 teacher participants.
